Industrial Area Phase I and II is the oldest industrial area of Pali commenced in 1979. According to the NGT order dated 20.08.2015, “RIICO Phase-I and Phase-II are yet to be connected to CETP. It is absolutely necessary that those industrial areas should also be connected through conduit pipes for connecting each industry to CETP. The said industries and the RIICO in consultation with the State Government shall install conduit pipelines expeditiously”.
But, due to the large distance between existing CETP and the industrial sector, huge cost and the fact that this pipeline need to be passed through Pali City's main area, the laying of closed conduit pipeline was not practical. Therefore, in order to comply with the NGT order, District Monitoring Committee and the Industrialist subsequently proposed to construct a ZLD plant for industries of Industrial Area Phase 1 and 2 and formed Industrial Area CETP Foundation(Pali) on Jan’2020. INDUSTRIAL AREA CETP FOUNDATION, PALI is a Special purpose Vehicle (SPV) registered under Section 8 of Companies Act in the Year 2020; working on the principle of non-profit institute to improve the level for control of Environmental pollution in the Pali city. Industrial Area CETP Foundation, Pali will cater to the existing cluster of 50 or more industries.
PROJECT BACKGROUND AND Need of Construction of New CETP with ZLD plant
●Total dissolve solids (TDS) of ground water in Pali region is very high which is 5000 to 6000 ppm.
● Presently, the water is supplied to the units by tankers and effluent to the treatment is also transported in a similar way. The treated effluent, instead of recycling, is released in open land/ Plantation.
● The recycled water having TDS below 500 ppm will be supplied to industries in Pali. This would enable SPV to reduce pressure on ground water resources in the city which is high in TDS.
● As part of water conservation and recycling, and to free up bore well water resource as well as to attain Zero Liquid Discharge, the SPV intends to have effluent recycling plant for all CETPs stage wise which includes the implementation of ZLD .
